With a masters degree in Printmaking and almost 30 years of teaching art in public schools, I have now focused my time on the exploration of high-fire ceramics. I hand-build stoneware clay bodies, and revel in the texture and pattern that is so easily pressed into the clay and then made permanent by fire. I find myself constantly in conversation with forms in nature, with memory, and with the clay. I am particularly inspired by the forms of shells from the vast collection that I inherited from my father - their beauty encouraged me to find my voice in clay.
