Annie Trincot
Annie Trincot is a painter originally from Indiana with a BFA in painting from Indiana University in Bloomington. In 2017, she completed a year-long studio residency at Trestle Gallery in Brooklyn. Her paintings have been shown in exhibitions throughout New York and the greater Chicago area, and can be found in a number of private collections. She joined Space 900 as a core member in January of 2024.
Annie also works as the Communications and Development Manager at Art Encounter, a visual arts non-profit serving the greater Chicago area with interactive art tours and travel; hands-on programs for students, seniors, and adults with disabilities; and a community mural initiative.
Annie’s representational oil paintings depict a variety of subject matter, from everyday scenes of personal objects in interiors to fictional characters and imagery from pop culture. Conceptually, she is interested in subverting ideas of traditional subject matter in fine art, exploring the idea of home as an extension of personal identity, and referencing the “universal through the specific,” among other ideas. Formally, she enjoys experimenting with a mix of painting styles and languages, creating representational imagery through simplified shapes and colors, and creating tension through intentional changes in space.
Annie resides in Skokie, Illinois with her partner, Max.
